Print Making ProcessTo make my print I first started by sketching out a few designs on paper. I decided I liked my passion design the best. After okaying it with Mrs. Meyer, I got a linoleum slab and drew the same design on that. I had to make sure all the letters were backwards so when I printed it they would turn out correctly. To help me do this I held it in a mirror and read what it said because mirrors flip things around. When I was ready to start carving I got a stop block and a thin carving tool. I started by carving the letters, circles, and outlining the stripes. Then I got a thicker carving tool and cut around the lines so that part would be white. I chose light blue for the first layer of paint, but there was only dark blue so I mixed that with white to make a lighter shade. I repeated some of the steps like carving out the parts I wanted blue then printed purple on top. I printed the stamp 6 times. I am very proud of my final product because it was not like any art I had done before. I really like how the colors that I chose turned out.
